patching thru images - zvinoonekwa nemaziso angu

Growing up, my classmates made fun of my last name since it’s translated to a “patch” in English. In Zimbabwe, having patches on your clothes is associated with being poor. When I moved to California, I noticed it was a part of the fashion and always made people’s clothes look beautiful. It’s amazing to me how something so beautiful has always been made fun of.

I have decided to name my photography journey patchingthru images because my goal is to make my world a better place by adding different patches of my photography to my story and people’s stories.
